How about to clone this project to github repository? This will increase the 
number of developers who will be able to contribute to the project.

Great idea, but I don't know how to easily import issues. Also convert repo to 
git would be fine

Для импорта можно попробовать svn2git
https://help.github.com/articles/importing-from-subversion
Что с issues делать пока ума не приложу.

Also I offet Bitbucket as an option | Также предлагаю Bitbucket 
как вариант
Sone features on Bitbucket implemented more user-friendly unkike Github | В 
отличие от Github на Bitbucket некоторые фичи 
реализованы удобнее.
