[Pods 2.8 Bug] Field not showing in REST API for extending post type

Pods 2.8 version

2.8.0-rc.1

Description

Having setup a pod in 2.7.30 by Extend Existing from a themes Post type, this would show fine in 2.7.30 via REST API as a field returned, but switching over to 2.8.0-rc.1, it fails to show.

Testing instructions

1. Create POD in 2.7.30 Extend Pod of theme - Post Type, Portfolio
2. Create a field in the pod - "plu" as a number "1234,00" length 4, (or text length 4). Enable REST API for field and POD, no restriction added to post or field.
3. Check in REST API - http://0.0.0.0:49153/wp-json/wp/v2/portfolio/2024 ..."plu":4202, Returned in JSON 4.Switch plugin to RC1 version, check POD all shows in interface, REST API still all showing enabled 5.Run same request http://0.0.0.0:49153/wp-json/wp/v2/portfolio/2024 ... Returned JSON has no plu field included.

Expected behavior

Would expect to at least check that using new version just to check post type and field, and then check REST API return the fields enabled.

Possible workaround

Stay on latest 2.7.xx, but do like the admin visibility configuration of where the group appears in 2.8.x so would like to be able to switch to that.

I'm seeing the field show up in REST API request using the package you provided:

Can you provide any other details regarding the content of your portfolio post type? It doesn't have post title or other fields enabled. I'm curious if you just edited the package down to reduce complexity, but by doing that it also removed what may have been the problem.

Is there anything in your current full config that could be overlapping here?

Have you tried turning off any specific plugins to see if there's a secondary conflict happening with Pods 2.8 itself?

Have you gone into the Pod in question and edited it at least once to verify the REST API is turned on for that pod and that field? I know config shows that it is, but I just wanted to confirm you see it showing up as enabled.

You may also try going to Pods Admin > Settings > Clear Pods Cache and see if that resolves the configuration problem there.

If none of those areas seem to help us figure out where things are going wrong -- I'm unable to figure out how to reproduce your issue further without debugging directly in the code itself. Hi Scott, I have not tired turning any plugins off, not sure there are really any other that would cause an issue in this setup.

Yes, REST API options are on at the pod and the field level, I have tried various combination off On/Off between the Pod and the Field etc. All still the same effect.

This is setup on a docker instance on my machine, I do have staging site but locked down version online, would need to see if the problem recur's there and report back to you. Stay tuned.
