Adding Field using "Duplicate" failed... #6464

Description

I duplicate the Field Piece FOUR Image.

Change the name and slug.

And hit Save New Field, getting this:

Testing Instructions

I have 25 Fields in the Group COLLECTION DETAILS Four Fields are Image fields. I duplicate the most recent Image Field, "Piece FOUR Image" Change the Name and Slug to "Piece FIVE Image" and "piece_five_image" I hit Save New Field. I receive the message: "File not added."

Possible Workaround

It worked fine when I start from scratch, clicking the "New Field" button.

In following the steps you listed in the issue, I got the error that field piece_five_image already exists, but was able to create piece_five_image_1.

Upon further inspection, it looks like there is already a field with piece_five_image in the group RECEPTION AREA — removing this should allow you to add the new field to COLLECTION DETAILS — does doing that resolve your issue @dfkuehn ?

The thing is, I kept trying other things. One test was to create a new Group RECEPTION AREA, then add it to that Field, but that was after failing to add it in the COLLECTION Group.

It's all fine now.

I consider it resolved.

Upon further inspection, it looks like there is already a field with piece_five_image in the group RECEPTION AREA — removing this should allow you to add the new field to COLLECTION DETAILS — does doing that resolve your issue @dfkuehn https://github.com/dfkuehn ? Duplicate field fails for me also, just shows a USELESS message ("Field not added"), great, why not? Nothing in error log either.

It fails with or without me making changes before trying to "Save New Field". If it matters this is within a group. The one being duplicated was created by me minutes/seconds earlier, there is no chance of there being a duplicate.

The error message should say why it failed or at least say to look somewhere for more details (hopefully a link).
