Date field with empty value shows date in frontend #6912

Description

I created a Date field and enabled the Allow empty value option, also the HTML5 input field, as I read somewhere that would help. Unfortunately if the field is empty it shows a strange date now in the frontend. How to avoid that? Also the date is shown in English tho my Wordpress is in German. Is there a way to translate that?
