Does this impact only relationship/file fields or does it impact just about any field you try?
You're right here that I can't reproduce this yet but I'm determined to help figure out what's going on so we can get it resolved for you and anyone else encountering it.
Can you provide a package of your configuration (Pods Admin > Migrate Packages) using the Migrate Packages component (Pods Admin > Components)? That might help us to see if we can reproduce the issue.
Also helpful would be access to your Site Health information (Tools > Site Health > Info Tab > Copy site info to clipboard) would also help us determine if there are any potential conflicts from other plugins or your theme.
Good morning.
I actually removed Pods from the site over this issue.
However, i can give you some background details on the installation.
I always use roughly the same plugins for building sites and roughly the same environments.
my builds are based mostly on cpanel servers.
my builds are usually based on the elementor site builder.
my builds are usually based on updraft for website backups.
my builds are usually based on the advanced addons for elementor plugin.
That's a common set of factors to my sites.

Description
In short, not only did Pods decide to clear the custom fields I had created of the data in the custom post type, but also decided that it would no longer save input from me.
You simply can't save content into a post on a custom content type using the back-end form - Pods apparently clears it while saving.
This is a well-reported issue, and saying "we can't reproduce it" is equivalent to saying "Well ours doesn't do that".
Of course yours doesn't do that - because your copy apparently works properly for some unknown reason.
Sarcasm aside, this needs looking into because this has happened to me multiple times on multiple installs and it's a serious bug that is well-reported by other users.
I'm using the latest version of Wordpress with Elementor on a cPanel install on a consumer-grade shared hosting server, but I've also experienced this on dedicated hosting.
