Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Run FCE Ultra GX 3.0.6 (Gamecube version)
2.Load Any Game
3.Listen to audio

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Familiar, accurate sound expected. A pitch shift (down) is heard for music
& sound effects as well as some slight audio skipping.

Does this issue occur on FCE Ultra 0.98.12 for Windows?
No

What version are you using? On GameCube or Wii?
Gamecube

Are you using the official build (from the downloads page or auto-update)?
Official Build

Please provide any additional information below.
Verified that I was using correct region mode (NTSC) as I know this can
cause similar symptoms if wrong one is selected.

Is this new, or is it present in older versions too?

It's new as of 3.0.6 as the previous Gamecube version suffered from a more
severe
sound glitch (buzzing).

Yes, I know about 3.0.5. I'm talking before 3.0.5 - what about 3.0.4?

Pre-3.0.5 all was well with the sound.
(As a side note, the latest SNES9x Gx seems to have perfect sound again.)

Well...I didn't touch any sound code, so I have no idea.

Hmm, well 3.0.5 -> 3.0.6 definitely saw an improvement in sound, but there still
appear to be issues there. I wish I could be more helpful than just pointing
this
out. At any rate thank you much for looking into this.

The only sound issues I catch are that one that has been present for a while
(defect
56) that I think requires different timers or something. It all sounds pretty
good
to me otherwise!

Are you using the Gamecube version? This may be specific to the 'cube only (as
the
previous audio issue was).

My bad, I am using the Wii version!

Well, the Wii version sounds fine to me, and that's all I care about.

Okay, I'll drop back to 3.0.2 (the last "perfect" 'cube version). I appreciate
your
time & thank you for replying.
