I am also having this problem. I used to be able to connect to my windows
shares
just fine in previous versions, but upon getting the latest version my settings
no
longer work and I receive an error.
My file structure is a network share called "Wii" with "fecugx", "snes9x", and
"vbagx" underneath it. I've tried changing the settings to just have the share
name
as "Wii" and "Wii/", but neither appears to work.
Is there any way to have the program output a log of some type? I'm considering
setting up a wireshark trace.

Further investigation. I added the same share to mPlayer CE and was able to
access
it successfully, so I don't think the problem is my share.
I was trying to add the share again via the fceugx gui and I noticed that my
'Load
Folder' kept getting erased. Even when I would manually set it via the gui,
after
going back to try and load a game by selecting "network" as a location to load
from
and then went back to the settings screen, the 'Load Folder' location was
blanked out
again. 'Save Folder' and 'Cheats Folder' retained their values.

After removing and re-adding the share on my windows box, it appears to work
from
fceugx, snes9xgx, and vbagx.
However, the 'Load Folder' setting is still getting erased. It doesn't appear
to
actually affect the loading of roms, but maybe should still be fixed?

the Load Folder is supposed to reflect the last browsed folder. If it can't
access
the folder specified, it will try one level up from the folder, and keep going
up
until it reaches one that it can access. eventually it will become blank and go
to
the device listing screen.
The share should be: Wii
The folder you can leave blank, and then browse to after.
It *should* save that folder on exit.
