Overhaul Cheating (All of Tantric's emulators) #228

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

I like how you use the Game Genie ROM itself to be able to cheat in NES
ROMs but emulators like Jnes have a simple way of
enabling/disabling/adding/removing/editing cheats. I was wondering is
something similar could be implemented.

I've already added both Game Genie AND cheat file support (which provides a
simple
way of enabling/disabled cheats.

Well the cheat file support is hard to use for me. Only displays numbers as
cheat
names and on/off for enabled/disabled. In my opinion it's better using cheat
name
(actual words), cheat code, and check box or something indicating if it is
enabled/disabled. I have no idea what I'm enabling or disabling. Not very user
friendly if you ask me.

-"OK, I'm just going to enable cheat #1."
-"What is cheat #1?"
-"Uh, I don't know."

You can change the cheat name, it doesn't have to be Cheat #1, it can be
"Unlimited
lives" or whatever. Just open the cheat file in a text editor and change it.
