Tinny Wii System Menu #245

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Load any of these emulators:
fceugc
vba-wii
snes9x-gx

Return to the Wii System Menu. The audio is now distorted until the Wii
is shutdown.

This does not happen with eke's genplus-gx, so there must be a fix.

It has to do with libogc (I think that's what it's called) and at the moment,
nothing
can be done about it. Hopefully a fix or hack will take care of these issues in
the
near future. Maybe when the next versions have the new Snes9x core(?) Why
Genplus-gx
doesn't have the issue is beyond me, since the beta version has a GX-based
menu.

If it has to do with the OGG/menu sound effects playback, I say disable the
junk.

If I could only download the source code, go to the audio section and disable
it, but
whether or not it's that simple is another matter.

@nintendonerd1889 - it is that simple actually. I know the SNES9x emulator has
a flag
to compile it without using the sound effects and im sure the other emulators
do as
well.

Why not do it and try?

It is that simple to disable it, but that won't solve the issue.

Can the issue even be resolved, with the way libogc (is that what it's called)
is set
up? At least by disabling the sound it solves the issue temporarily. If someone
could
tell me which flag to edit, I could do it. I can't download the source due to
either
my ISP being retarded or I'm using the wrong program.

No. It's a libogc issue, with the audio init code.
the issue is when changing the sampling frequency from 48Khz to 32Khz - libogc
just
flips the bit, the SDK does a whole bunch of stuff

power your Wii off for at least a few seconds. then try running HBC via bootmii-
boot2, then "return to system menu". you'll see the same issue.

*Sigh* That's what I thought...so it is a libogc issue...Are there any viable
solutions for FCEUGC and Snes9xgx? And yes, I did notice that it affects the wii
after you get back into the menu.
