Was just curious about something, and I will admit I know nothing about 
programming and such. I remember back in the early 90's using a NES emulator on 
the PC called "nesticle". No joke. There was an option to play over the net 
with someone using IP direct connect. Probably a stupid question, but would 
somthing like that be even remotely possible with the wii?

Is it doable, yes. Anything is. It would require a lot of work, and im sure 
that its 
nowhere near priority.

it could, but again another feature I don't intend to do. maybe some day if 
someone 
else joins the project, they may take up working on some of these ideas.
