@dborth
Why does this issue keep getting turned down? Is it impossible to fix?
Original comment by nintygaming

Because I have no idea how to fix it, and don't intend to spend the effort to
try.

You do realize that its the same issue as the one that "you did fix today" in
SNES9x GX?
If I'm incorrect, I'll recant.

Who knows if it is or not? I don't know that. And the solution isn't the same
because the code isn't the same.

I guess FCE Ultra don't let you tweak the input frequency in the audio config,
like Snes9x.
FCE Ultra user manual says there is a "buffering" option that is supposed to
help with sound crackling, but I'm not sure if it would really work.

Changing the input frequency would be the best option, but I think this change
needs to come from the original FCE Ultra author first.

@ thiagoalvesdealmeida
Actually the FCEU GX audio has been fixed once, but not completely. The
original person who adjusted, may or may not still participate in this
community. But it wasn't the original author, that's for sure.
It can be done. Maybe ekeeke will be interested?

I was referring to the person that creates the windows version, since FCE Ultra
GX is only a port.
It sure can be done. The sound emulation from the Virtual Console NES games
don't have this problem, for example. But I think only ekeeke really knows how
to help.

@gamewiza
Listen closely. It will stutter every 5-10 seconds. Some games do it worse than
others. Almost everyone is aware of this issue. It doesn't look like any of the
coders seem to care.
Fixing this issue once and for all would bring this emulator to definite
perfection.

even decided to port this emulator

Sorry about bringing this subject up, but it looks like this audio problem was
a know issue that was still present on the source code until very recently.
Someone created a patch to solve this problem
(https://github.com/perilsensitive/fceux/commit/d62a0c43a4d0ea8600629ce2be9daa71
834145eb), and this patch is now applied in the latest SVN, as you can see in
the link above.

However, I'm not sure if this could really solve the problem with the Wii
version.

Well, now that thiagoalvesdealmeida has pointed this out, can dborth or ekeeke
do anything about it? (I would but I don't know anything about this stuff!)

That's an issue with the SDL port - it doesn't apply. timing for the Wii is
done completely differently.

So is it finally safe to assume that this will not ever get fixed? (just want
to know for sure). Thanks!
