when I have a single US mirror but many canadian mirrors, the US mirror quickly gets overwhelmed. To avoid this, I added "otherCountries: us,ca" to all canadian mirrors so that they are on equal footage with the single US mirror. Despite this, all US users were directed to the single US mirrror.
And when I looked at the mirror list (URL with ".mirrorlist" suffix), they did not appear under the list of "mirrors which handle this country (US)".
Let me know how I can help you diagnose this. Somehow I have the feeling that this used to work and that it failed recently for reasons that I don't understand. At some point I lost all the "otherCountries" settings and I believe it is when I ran an "mb update -A" to update the geographic data. I have reset values with "mb edit" but afterwards it seemed to not give the expected result.
