I am currently updating each dataset in light of these new norms

tupuni commented 6 years ago

In order to improve and simplify the citation code, I would like to change it to: [Author: first author][-][Publication date: year][-][Title item]

The Author item should be the first author's name capitalized (e.g. "Weisler") and the Title item should be the journal abbreviation in uppercase, or a keyword from the book/chapter title in lowercase (e.g. "JPS" or "Tuamotu": e.g. 1 : Best, S.B., 1984. Lakeba: The prehistory of a Fijian island (PhD Thesis). University of Auckland. becomes "Best-1984-Lakeba" e.g. 2 : McAlister, A., Allen, M.S., 2017. Basalt geochemistry reveals high frequency of prehistoric tool exchange in low hierarchy Marquesas Islands (Polynesia). PLOS ONE 12, e0188207. https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pone.0188207 becomes "McAlister-2017-PLOSONE" e.g. 3 : Hermann, A., Sauzéat, L., Guillou, H., Maury, R.C., Chauvel, C., Liorzou, C., Conte, E., 2017. Combined geochemical and geochronological analyses of stone artefacts provide unambiguous evidence of intra- and inter-island interactions in Polynesia. Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports 13, 75–87. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jasrep.2017.03.024 becomes "Hermann-2017-JASR"

I updated and uploaded here a final (hopefully!) version of the submission template. And I am going through the datasets already uploaded to make the changes. Cheers!

Okay, I think this is a good idea to standardise the citation code. I will upload the new version of the template to github when you email it to me.

I updated a final (hopefully!) version of the submission template but for some reason I can't upload it on to the GitHub repository. So Andrew, I will send it to you via e-mail so you can uploaded it (I think my internet is just to slow here).
    Cheers!

It's already there, I finally could upload it, along with several of the former datasets. It's laborious but I had some time in the plane (36h in the air..) I made sure that all citations are standardised, but feel free to have a second look. PS: We have internet at the house in Vila right now, so we can organise a skype call up to Thursday afternoon.

I've got the latest template now and am updating and checking the datasets I'm currently working on.

I think it is only two hours time difference between Port Vila and Auckland so we could have a skype call tomorrow. What is a good time for you?
