Fix up testing #99

updated tests to not use deprecated functions
fixed up an error by updating function on how x_name was being passed to create a csv
adding message or output catches to various functions to quiet test output

Was unable to remove the Warning message: call dbDisconnect() when finished working with a connection as it appears to be linked to other things no just database related. Potentially when creating the text files or other object connections, but felt very inconsistent in the testing.
