1 month ago Origin Giratina will be EVable in Hisui, although I'm not entirely against doing this in Sinnoh. However, if we want to deal with other Pokémon that evolve in this way, I think it would be best to have some way of using more of the held evo item for EVs
Current Behavior
At the moment, the only way to get EVs on Giratina (Origin) is to get lucky by seeing it in the Friend Safari. The Safari is universally disliked, hence why many Pokemon are being removed from there in favour of more desirable catch locations.
Improved Behavior
Giratina (Origin) would in the Distortion World Dungeon in Sinnoh alongside Cyrus and Giratina (Altered). In order to make sure players still have to get a Griseous Orb and evolve Giratina (Altered), Giratina (Origin) would only be unlocked as a boss once the player has caught Giratina (Origin) at least once.
Reason for change
Not only would this remove Giratina (Origin) from the Friend Safari, it would also make more sense to Platinum's canon to fight Giratina (Origin) in the Distortion World, especially since Origin Form Giratina is actually in the Dungeon picture for the Distortion World.
Detailed Description
The update is for removing Giratina (Origin) from the pool of many Pokemon currently in the Friend Safari. As a replacement area for catching it, Giratina (Origin) will be placed in the Distortion World Dungeon as a boss, but it would only be available in the pool of bosses for the Dungeon after obtaining it at least once, so the player would have to still evolve Giratina (Altered).
With this change, there'll be at least one less Pokemon to phase out of the Friend Safari, as well as a way to get EVs on Giratina (Origin) more efficiently.
