If you are looking for Pokémon GO friends, you're in the wrong place. Try /r/PokemonGoTrades instead!

I'd say that part's going a bit too far, and would drop it. The rest sounds good.

Oh, and I assume "Ultra Sun" will still be "US" in the actual flair? Have to keep flair character limits in mind.

How so? I was the one who suggested it in chat. The subtle approach has been very ineffective so far. If we consider the GO influx to be a big enough problem that we're modifying every instance of "friend code" on our subreddit and still encountering lots of confused users posting GO codes, then I don't think it's a bad idea to direct them where to go.

Yes, of course, though we'll be losing eight characters soon for unrelated reasons (creating compatible ball flair and extra flair emojis for the redesign).

I think it's a weird place to include that sentence, and is unlikely to help much. I'd rather put it in the new user wiki page, or if that's not enough, create some general common flair mistakes section within the "set flair text" page. Or just a sentence like "Note that you'll need a 3DS and a gen 6 or 7 video game to participate in this subreddit. If you're looking for trades involving Pokemon Go, TCG/PTCGO, monetary exchanges, etc, check out the [related subreddits] page to find out where to go."

Specifically calling out Go in the flair text page's game error message just seems like overkill and extremely out of place.

My main concern was that people have to go to setting flair text page to start trading so that adding the note would let them realize quickly that they should use another sub.

Another option (maybe even better) would be perhaps to include this information on quick start wiki page and if we want, replace 'We need at least one game' with 'We need at least one 3DS game' (or just leave it as is).

I think it'd be good to add some sort of clarifying text on the flair setting page, because people don't read the wiki as much as we'd like them to.

As for the specific text, I like Kirzi's suggested wording:

Note that you'll need a 3DS and a gen 6 or 7 video game to participate in this subreddit. If you're looking for trades involving Pokemon Go, TCG/PTCGO, monetary exchanges, etc, check out the [related subreddits] page to find out where to go.
