f-droid is a repository of free software for android and derivatives. it would be great to get a version released there, the guidelines for inclusion are here: https://f-droid.org/wiki/page/Inclusion_Policy https://f-droid.org/wiki/page/Inclusion_How-To

also, a name change would be great, to not clash with the existing and likely unmaintained mixare, which is already in f-droid.

cheers,

Hey @robinpaulson! :-) Great to hear from you and thank you for your suggestion! (which was unexpected)

Currently we're not really finished with what we wanted to achieve (feature wise), the app is a bit unstable, it is using up way too much resources (cpu/battery) and it is a bit too much focused on our specific area/use case (Uni Duisburg-Essen) because we are still not finished with our master project. So, generally speaking, we do not really feel like it is ready to be released in F-Droid just yet. But to do that at some point in the future was already planned and we were also considering a name change, not without asking the original developers how they like our changes and if we should "officially" fork or try to reintegrate/take over the official repo.

Now I'm intrigued: Do you know/have used mixare? Did you try our current working state? Do you have any suggestions regarding the app itself?

Cheers

I've Mixare installed (from F-droid BTW) and due to the name conflict, I can't install this app without uninstalling the original. Bad to compare the apps.

Before you ask the same question: I was looking for augmented reality apps using OSM data. And making custom request from the original app was far from straightforward.
