B612 Mono does not show up as a fixed-width font in Linux #19

I can't select B612 Mono as my preferred font in applications that limit the list to fixed-width fonts. fc-list :spacing=100 does not include any of the B612 or B612 Mono fonts.

Can concur, GNOMEs font-manager program shows the B612 Mono fonts with "Spacing: Proportional"

I made a fork of the project that recreated the ttf mono fonts with the slashed zero as the standard one and that can be recognized as Mono fonts in Linux. You might be interested on checking it.

I don't have access to fontlab so I had to make the ttfs with fontforge and the sources are not updated... but the ttfs work. https://github.com/ekaitz-zarraga/b612

Seeing the same here.

@LaurentSpaggiari Would you be open to accept a PR for this? What would it take for you to consider merging it?

ekaitz-zarraga commented 9 months ago

@pkoch I made a PR from my repo but nobody answered, this happened 3 years ago. My PR is not great because I had to edit the TTF files directly as I didn't have access to the program they use to work on the sources, but still, they didn't even answer...

Perhaps this is an abandoned font, not an open font. 🤷‍♀️
