EPI2ME Desktop Use #221

Open Ceres90 opened 4 months ago

I may be using the agent incorrectly, but when i try to use the desktop agent with piranha:

the barcodes input section asks for a csv file but you can only select a directory , this seems to cause an issue when you try to run the workflow... am I doing something incorrectly?

Hi @Ceres90, what version of EPI2ME desktop are you using and on which operating system? It works fine for me with latest piranha, but I can't download the latest version of EPI2ME desktop as it seems to be broken for Mac M1. Something might have changed in how EPI2ME parses the config file

So I've downloaded the latest on my end here and updated to the latest piranha too and it seems to be working fine and selecting the barcodes file works if you double click on the file (the epi2me interface). This is on a mac though, so it may behave differently on windows? I'll see if we can get this tested on a windows machine

Hi Rachel- Thanks for the quick response, I included a screenshot of what I see . Not sure if that helps?

Just following up with this, think the issue fell out of our memory! I've pinged @Desperate-Dan as he has a windows system and may be able to confirm what the problem is

Desperate-Dan commented 3 months ago

Hi @Ceres90, it looks like it was a Mac vs Windows issue with input naming in the setup for epi2me. I've made some changes and on my Windows epi2me I can select a specific file for the barcodes.csv now and all appears to be running correctly. Reinstall the workflow and hopefully it'll work for you too!

Ceres90 commented 3 months ago

would you be able to take a screen shot of what your layout looks like, I just updated and i am seeing the same issue where i can just select folders not files...

Ceres90 commented 3 months ago

found the issue, it appears after the update you also have to go to "switch revision" and change it to "main" and then it should work.

thanks for the fix!

Desperate-Dan commented 3 months ago

Ah great, I was just about to suggest it might be something to do with that! Hope the rest works for you too!
