Initial test suite

Use the Jest framework to unit test major app components.
Look into using Webdriver.IO framework for integration testing. Can be used for testing both Electron and React applications.
Document API and confirm correctness.
Update test suite as the app architecture evolves.

Since opening this issue, WDIO packages were installed and a testing infrastructure was set up. Since then, WDIO have updated their packages with breaking API changes. A new PR needs to fix these breaking changes along with the application's testing infrastructure.

This PR is therefore out of date, and may be closed.
