when live recording, having shift press acts as a repeater each X steps, can be usefull for finger drumming, mpc style.
example : instead of inputting 64 times an hi-hat or using fill function, just live record with shift button pressed. hold shift key down while pusing (your hi-hat key) and you have your pattern filled with just holding down 2 keys.
basically as long as SHIFT is pushed, hitting a key will auto trigger a note, according to the step value on the 2nd box at the bottom of the screen.
