"Render Selection" on a MIDI track #1403

Can we just have the option of recording the line in when rendering a selection so we could get samples from external synths slaved to the tracker?

I mean, it's actually pretty astonishing this isn't possible on a multitrack sampler. (:

That would be a wonderful enhancement. +1 I recently opened issue #1376 (auto-start pattern playback in sync with sample record), and a similar issue was suggested in #674 (auto-record in sync with pressing play). Furthermore, in issue #900 a recording threshold was suggested, which would be some kind of workaround and a nice extension as well. All those issues deal with the question of how to record sequenced external MIDI gear in sync. While your suggested enhancement would even be the most elegant one, since one wouldn't be restricted to the pattern start.
