but this doesn't sound right....

Vanilic acid, also known as 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid, is an organic compound with the molecular formula C8H8O4. It is a derivative of vanillin, which is the primary compound responsible for the characteristic flavor and aroma of vanilla.

Chorismate lyase is an enzyme that transforms chorismate into 4-hydroxybenzoate and pyruvate. This enzyme catalyses the first step in ubiquinone biosynthesis in Escherichia coli and other Gram-negative bacteria.

I added growth auxotrophic for para-hydroxy benzoic acid because that is likely a valid precursor. I'll remove the vanillin auxotrophy annotation for now
