matrix option for Advanced search lists #1862

I use this AmiGO a lot, but its use is restricted by the fact that you can only use it on whole genome annotation, not on lists.

I think it uses a java library and so presumably for us, would not be so complicated to add to PomBAse at some point? I don't know why I never asked this before (it's the tool I asked GO for and use a lot for QC, since before PomBase existed PMID: 32875947).

It could be useful for our users to have access to this option.

Is the software on GitHub?

ValWood commented 2 years ago

I think it just uses a java library, I'll ask Seth...

The paper says "Term Matrix uses the JavaScript D3 library. The code is released under the BSD 3-Clause ‘New’ or ‘Revised’ License, the same as the parent AmiGO application [20]."

I can have a go at this sometime but we'll need to chat about it first. :-)

I've had a look at the AmiGO matrix display code. It will be useful as a guide but I don't think we'll be able to reuse much of it.

This is low priority but I'd like to try implementing it. I think it would only take a few days to get something basic up and running after we've decided how and where it would fit into the website.

I would Love it!
