What steps will reproduce the problem?
* Open an ics file from SD card or from K-9 mail client attachments Open/Save
options.
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
* Expect to see the long description field from the original Outlook
appointment. Instead it is truncated at around 60 characters.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
* ICS Bot 1.4, Android 2.1 on Samsung S Vibrant phone.
Please provide any additional information below.
* By mailing the ics file from the SD card back to Outlook I confirm that the
long description field remains intact when it has been saved to the SD card. So
I conclude that the calendar item viewer enabled by ICS Bot is limiting the
length of the description field. (The description field for a manually entered
calendar item on the phone appears to have no length limit or at least a
generous one.)
Thank you, Elliott, for this handy little program which repairs a serious (and
puzzling) shortcoming in the Android system. Given that the Google online
calendar cheerfully accepts ics files, it's hard to see why the Android system
does not.
