I have the same issue, but running the following configuration:
Uploader version 1.1.3152.23858
MS Outlook 2007 SP1 + latest updates
Windows XP SP3 + Latest updates
Using a PST File for upload.

uploader 1.1.0808.1801
MS Outlook 2007 SP1 with latest update
Vista Business 32Bit SP1 with latest updates
After I upload the emails from the existing imap server (Postfix) to Google App
account with the uploader, the date of the emails changed to the upload time.
When I
check the same email on the web based mail, the date was the original date.
I don't know why Outlook and Google mail shown different date for the same
email, I
attached with the screen capture to show you my situation.
I'm also reselling Google Apps Premier edition to my customers, if the uploader
doesn't work, it will be much harder for me to sell.

Same issue here. Dates are fine in web base email but Outlook 2007 has wrong
date
displayed. Individual emails, however, do have the correct date but that does
not
help when looking at emails chronologically.
This is a very frustrating problem that should be elevated to HIGH priority.
Hope someone can create a program to run in OUTLOOK 2007 that can simply
correct the
date.

I'm also dealing with this issue. For me, using the Google e-mail uploader is
useless. I'm migrating several accounts and would love to just use the
uploader
and call it a day, but it simply doesn't work properly. As has been stated
earlier,
the dates in outlook once the mail has been uploaded do not match what they
were
originally. The messages appear chronologically in the webmail version, but
end up
showing the date they were uploaded when viewing the IMAP folders through
Outlook.
Copying from Outlook to the IMAP store through Outlook, though much more labor-
intensive and time-consuming, seems to work finr (i.e. dates display
appropriately
in Outlook.
P.S. This is using Outlook 2007, BTW.

The statement "The original date information of each message was lost." is not
true.
If you look at your email through the web interface, the dates are fine. It is
only
the IMAP view that shows the wrong date.
This bug is the same as Issue 31. The two should be merged, moved to HIGH
PRIORITY,
and solved.

Agreed. I'm new to the forum. How do we merge the issues? Can it only be
done by
the original poster? This is definitely a major bug.
And if it's a known bug the uploader should not be offered again until it is
fixed,
or at least offered with a caveat that the dates will not appear properly in
IMAP.
I had already uploaded a couple of accounts before I noticed the problem. Talk
about a waste of time!

Even worse, all accounts that had e-mail sent up using the uploader were
permanently
damaged to the point that even uploads via IMAP showed incorrect dates. I had
to
cloase all the accounts, wait five days for the names to be made available
again,
and begin anew moving all the mail via IMAP in Outlook (which works fine, dates
are
correct in IMAP view).
So, there seems to be a bug even in GMail itself, as opposed to a bug with the
uploader, now that I think about it. I've even repeated the process on dummy
accounts as an experiment and this holds true every time. Once the uploader
screws
up your account, you can never transfer mail even through IMAP and have the
correct
date appear.
OK, through ranting. Google, heads up. Let's get this taken care of already.
This
issue's been open nearly a year already. Issue 31's been open since July 2008!

Sorry you had so much pain with it. I discovered it when I was testing it out
as I'm
usually cautious with such things.
It seems that users like us aren't able to merge issues, at least I couldn't
find an
option to do this. Maybe a Google person reading this could help us out. Then
again,
not sure if they read stuff here at all.
Google, give this some attention, please. This has been sitting here for too
long!

I'm having this problem still, and this is a month and a half latter. Serious
problem. Please give a work around!
The emails dates appear to only be corrected when the files are downloaded to
the
local machine.

Google, PLEASE look at this, merge with Issue 31, and fix it.

Having the same issues company-wide, 120 employees. Have 5 executive users with
5-10GB+++ of mail that was merged without carrying the original dates with the
messages.

Mail can be sorted using the sent field instead of received... this is not a
fix but a
work-around that should allow you to sort mail chronologically. This has
helped me
cope... I hope this helps some of you...
