What type of gmail gadget are you trying to write?

Feature "settitle" is listed as a supported feature for sidebar gadgets:
http://code.google.com/apis/gmail/gadgets/sidebar/

Not listed as supported in contextual gadgets:
http://code.google.com/apis/gmail/gadgets/contextual/#gadget
