Can't read nbgit nbproject in 6.5RC2 and 7 beta (Build 20081227211330)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. git clone git://github.com/myabc/nbgit.git
2. start netbeans and select Open Project
3. navigate to nbproject/ and click open

What is the expected output? 

  A mbgit project

What do you see instead?

The dialog stays on the screen with nothing to open.

What versions of NbGit, NetBeans and Java are you using?
On what operating system?

The problem disappeared when I updated from NB 6.5 RC2 to NB 6.5.

This issue should be marked resolved

As requested, mark as fixed. See issue 30 for the problem wrt. NetBeans version 
7.
