The software center seems to have raised a lot of warnings for
executable-not-elf-or-script (I'll check for executable bits erroneously
attributed to non executable files) but the only errors (which I suppose
prevents the installation) are duplicated synopsys and invalid package
maintainer's mail address - not really something that should block an
installation!
Those fileds are created automatically by Alien, a popular package converter
for Linux - synopsys and mail address are correctly configured on the original
package, in RPM format, that I convert to DEB with Alien.
I've installed on my test Ubuntu machines all releases of PeaZip converted by
Alien for at least 2 years, now I suppose there is something the new Ubuntu
software center does not like from my release of Alien - probably updating
Alien is the key to create package that the new software center may like, in
the meantime I should recommend using the Portable version for Linux, that does
not need installation.
Could you specify your exact Ubuntu release (and software center release) so I
can test the problem with the closest configuration possible?

I've tested the DEB, it installs properly with no warning message on an Ubuntu
10.10 32 bit out of the box machine (please note on x86-64 bit Linux system
requires ia-32 libs to run), which is the latest stable distribution - 11.04 is
expected soon, but is still in beta.
Can you try downloading again the package and retry to install? If it fails
again, I would need to know on what version of Ubuntu the installer fails.

3.6.2 and 3.7 DEB packages installs without problems on my Ubuntu test
machines, I'll close this report if not utterly confirmed.
