Unicode symbols cause issues #53

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. insert chesspiece unicode symbols using MacOS Character Viewer tool
2.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Symbols cause delinking with server version, and disappear upon exiting and
rentering wave.

What browser are you using? Which version?
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3)
Gecko/20090824 Firefox/3.5.3

Please provide any additional information below.
Extended latin characters seem to work, as do cyrillic, however, the use of
symbols in the range labeled "Miscelaneous symbols" U+2638 to U+26b2 seem
to all trigger both the delinking issue and the not saving issue.
