Add support for old RAR encryption #173

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
The RAR parser only supports modern AES encryption for RAR files, and none of
the several old
weak encryption schemes. These could be added, but I lack test cases. They seem
extremely rare in
the wild, too.

If anyone has any of these files, please post them along with the password.

I've uploaded a passworded .rar file to EasyShare. I've also attached the file.
The password is "jamesbond" (no
spaces, no caps). It's a passworded .rar file of The Unarchiver app. I ran a
check on the .rar after I made it to
verify it worked, and everything checked out. I tried opening it by
double-clicking which brought up The
Unarchiver asking for a password. After putting in the password, it simply
froze and crashed. Here is the link
to the file:

http://www.easy-share.com/1907631685/unarchiver.rar

Again, the password is "jamesbond" with no caps or spaces. I am using The
Unarchiver 2.0.2 on Snow Leopard
10.6.0 (but I had the same results under 10.5). Thanks and keep up the awesome
work!

That file is not an old RAR file, it is a new one. And it actually does work,
it is just very,
very slow. If you wait for long enough it should unarchive.

I created a new issue for that, issue 194.

(Forgot to post that v2.0 crypto has been supported for some time already)
