Support for The Daily Show / Colbert report #60

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
Please add support for The Daily Show / Colbert Report.

I implemented a bash script that does the job, see:
http://gist.github.com/276271
But I am not familiar with perl.

Keep up the good work.

Mtvnservices is supported which both The Daily Show and The Colbert Report
websites
use. This issue should probably be closed.

Doesn't work for me. It recognizes that it's mtvnservices, but then can't find
the video URL:

$ get_flash_videos -u
You already have the latest version.

$ get_flash_videos -d

Yes but if you do a clip instead of a full episodes it does work for instance:
{{{
$ get_flash_videos -d
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-august-2-2010/mary-roach
}}}

See [http://code.google.com/p/get-flash-videos/issues/detail?id=117 bug 117].

Aw, that's a bit annoying. Well, thanks for the clarification. :)

So, I think the issue 117 linked to points this out as well, but the problem is
essentially that there isn't a single full episode stream and rather there are
a set of chunks that one can grab, but would have to piece together after
acquiring them. I'm not sure if get_flash_videos provides any built-in
machinery for doing this sort of thing, but that's all that prevents this from
working right now.

Why does this say it is "fixed". It certainly is not. I'll provide all the logs
you need. But can someone please help with this. Labeling it "fixed" because
there's an MTV plugin, does not mean the issue is resolved. Can anyone please
actually help with the issue?
