The trouble is that the git clone is done by the user on the host (in the case of gitpod, the user called “gitpod”).
But when you mount it inside the container, it is the www-data user that needs access to it.
Despite the fixes of #49 now I’m getting:
Cannot create or write into the data directory /var/www/html/data
