We don't have a persistence notification do we? This would be helpful if we could have the app loggign in the background, which I think we can't

logging from the background is possible, see #23 And you're right, we don't have a persistent notification. We should.

I could take this issue and try to move it forwards. It might be a good android learning experience.

If no one wants it right now, you can assign it to me :)
