Improve phrasing for the serialisation section #512

Lint error is due to this markdown-lint rule, which specifies the default indentation whitespace for nested lists (the default is 2). But, it seems like mkdocs needs at least 4 spaces to correctly indent unordered lists: https://github.com/mkdocs/mkdocs/issues/545

@ergl the linting error should be resolved in some fashion before merging.
