Hi @pookjw ,

first of all. I really appreciate your hard investment to get this stuff running on the older devices. Good Job dude!

Well I've got the hardware that I described above.

I tried the following steps.... ....first of all the steps I always backed up the original SidecarCore and wrote it back before I did the next try Also remounted the APFS rw

1# Patched with the last version 8 --> The sidecar submenu appears now in my SystemSettings -> but not device (iPad) in the list 2# I red the info about version 5 (Strips blacklist for some iPads) --> Back to the roots and patched with version 5: same result, submenu appears but no device in there

I also always rebooted my MacBook between all the steps The 2 devices uses the same AppleID, Bluetooth on and connected to the same WIFI

Any idea why this happens and did not work ? Thank you very much!

It seems that sidecar just straight up does not work no matter what on mbp 2012 (no success) and sometimes mbp 2013 (I've seen mixed reviews), so we're outta luck until somebody can either write support for mbp 2012 or apple fixes it :/

Working perfectly fine on my MacBook Pro Mid-2012 and iPad 9.7 6th Generation. Followed these exact steps: https://youtu.be/YJ4FLFL7nUE After that I reset the Network and Privacy Settings in iPad. Connected the iPad to MacBook using the original cable and synced it using Finder.

I have those same devices and did exactly those steps and still can't get it to properly connect. I get a black screen on the ipad and a 32002 error on the mac. Even tried a fresh install of 10.15 and got the same error :/

Try out these steps:

  1. General > Reset > Reset Location & Privacy
  2. Connect iPad to Mac using Lightning Cable
  3. Open iPad in Finder and Sync it again. It might ask you to trust the devices both devices on each other so do so.

It should work

Did exactly that and get either a "device was disconnected" or 32002 error
