Pop store doesn't work on live image or first boot post-install #250

How did you upgrade to 21.10? (Fresh install / Upgrade)

Fresh install on 2015 MacBook Pro and demo env from USB on Lenovo (did not install on Lenovo)

Issue/Bug Description:

Both on the MacBook I installed on and on new Lenovo I tested the live image on, the Pop store thinks it is offline. On the Mac, where I actually installed, it still thought it was off line after the first boot. I ran an apt update && apt upgrade and rebooted and all was fine on that one.

Expected behavior:

I expect the store to see that it is connected to the internet.

Other Notes:

The store being broken kept me from being able to test critical aspects of the Lenovo that would have let me know if I was safe to actually do the install. I needed to be able to pull in some additional applications and validate they worked.

I just wanted to confirm this issue and, therefore, tested it again.

This happened for me as well, but is now somehow fixed. I'm not aware that pop-shop was updated in the meantime.

So I do not see this issue anymore.

When pop-shop gave the "cannot update cache when offline" error, bot apt and flatpak worked fine on the command line.

This looks like a duplicate of https://github.com/pop-os/shop/issues/289, which we recently closed because we haven't seen it happen for a while. If anyone is still experiencing this behavior, make sure your machine is fully up-to-date by running sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade. If the issue persists after that, please comment in https://github.com/pop-os/shop/issues/289 and we can reopen the issue.
