How did you upgrade to 21.10? (Fresh install / Upgrade)

apt policy $PACKAGE NAME
Issue/Bug Description:
Switch from nVidia > hybrid, wait for window to close, 'switch and reboot' > grey screen, ctrl-alt-del > to fix/continue reboot
Steps to reproduce (if you know):
Expected behavior:
switch and reboot > complete cycle
