Expected behavior: Applications in the system tray should properly respond to input.

Actual behavior: Applications in the system tray don't respond to any input.

Steps to reproduce: Try closing application to tray, then try to make it re-appear. Or simply try to interact with it in the system tray.

Distribution: Fedora KDE 40

Desktop environment: COSMIC

Kernel version: 6.9.11-200.fc40.x86_64

Processors: 2 × AMD A4-9120C RADEON R4, 5 COMPUTE CORES 2C+3G

Memory: 3.5 GiB of RAM

Graphics: AMD Radeon R3 Graphics

Very similar problem on my system, FWIW. By the way, all the described problems do not occur when using Pop .. the icons all work as expected.

Expected behavior: Applications in the system tray should properly respond to input.

Actual behavior: Some applications in the system tray don't respond to any input, or only respond once.

Steps to reproduce: Try closing application to tray, then try to make it re-appear. Or simply try to interact with it in the system tray. Some apps will respond to the interaction, some will respond but only once and then afterwards nothing happens when clicking them, some do nothing, some don't display an icon, just a space when the icon exists.

Distribution: Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS Desktop environment: COSMIC Kernel version: Linux 6.9.3-76060903-generic x86_64 Processors: Intel® Core™ i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz × 12 Memory: 16.0 GiB of RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti with Max-Q Design/PCIe/SSE2 / Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics (CML GT2) Network adapter: Intel Corporation Comet Lake PCH CNVi WiFi Laptop model: HP HP Spectre x360 Convertible 15-eb0xxx

App icon in system tray shows context menu on click until there's change in app state and tray menu is rebuilt with different options.

For me if i interact with either Discord or steams tray icon it restarts cosmic. So for further info i can click the icons and get their context menu but as soon as i click "open discord" or for steam "library" cosmic restarts.
