Lately, I had to left my PC with Pop!_OS w/ Cosmic Alpha unattended for like 10h. I turn off the monitor and leave.

When I come back I get a message like this 20240920_014114 It does that every time

Looks like the log doesn't include any error messages cosmic-comp produced before crashing. journalctl should have those.

There is Nothing kept in the logs, In fact the last boot I have in the Log in from September 17.

Right now this is the only thing I have, wich is still an issu I guess. screenshot-2024-09-26-15-30-25

Ok I have some news; I continue to experiance this issue everyday but today, something happen. I let a youtube play while I listen to it my my bluetooth headphone. I closed the projector that I use as a monitor and leave. Some time later, I return to my PC and open my projector. At this exact moment, the ausio stoped and I got the same error than before.

I can confirm this behaviour. It's been happening as long as I've used Cosmic (since just prior to the first alpha cut).

When you return, wake everything up you be returned to an empty session, every single time.

It's so bad that I want to turn off the Power savings options, which currently are:

Look like we have a reliable way to recreate this bug. Plz, this is getting beyond annoying :(

This was one NixOS users solution:

If anyone else has dealt with this, here's how I handled it for my system. I disabled all the sleep/hibernation functionality via nix config and then went into Cosmic Settings and disabled the Power & Battery > Automatic Suspend, but left the "Turn off the screen after" 15 minutes on. That seems to create desirable behavior. Locks the desktop and turns the screens off after 15 mins. Then mouse/key input reactivates screens to cosmic greeter. Login works and back to normal.

I'm a NixOS user so I'll give this a run.

It may also give a clue as to where the underlying problem is for other users.

At this point, I did they really don't care about this issue....

Yes, we do. It's an alpha DE that is currently in heavy development by a small team. We appreciate your patience.
