I'm using Arch and installed Cosmic through sudo pacman -S cosmic-session

Issue/Bug description: When I fullscreen now either firefox or Freetube (which always opens in fullscreen) the whole pc freezes or atleast what im seeing music still runs in the background.

Steps to reproduce: Fullscreen either firefox or open Freetube Expected behavior: Pc not freezing Other notes: This did not happen before alpha 2 Im pretty sure its any application if i fullscreen it but its annoying to test cause i have to force shutdown my pc through power button I have 3440x1440 resolution

Okay i tested it again and just opened cosmic settings which opens in not full screen i double clicked to make it full screen and it froze, so i can confirm the bug happens on everything when i full screen it

I also ran into the same issue on my laotop. I use NixOs and installed cosmic over lilyinstarlight's flake. In my case, the system completely locks up every time when maximizing or minimizing a window. This happens independently of whether I'm in tiled windowing or not.

I also recall something similar happening to me when I used COSMIC on Manjaro during Alpha 1, so I'm not sure if it's entirely an Alpha 2 problem.

Note: Simply resizing the window or toggling tiled mode works as expected

Same issue here. cant even open a tty, have to restart my pc.

Edit: this does not seem to happen to me when an app is maximized. Maximizing apps will sometimes freeze my machine to the same extent as if i fullscreened

There seems to be a similar issue open for the cosmic-comp: pop-os/cosmic-comp#887. Scanning through the issue, it seems probable that this issue or at least my case of it is related to 887. The behavior described there is similar if not identical. I'm also running a system with an amd iGPU which could be relevant based on what I read there. (I'm also on kernel 6.11)

True 887 seems like the same issue and I'm also on (kernel 6.11) and have an AMD GPU

Yep, this is the same issue!
