[Feature request] Add the ability to change dock icons size and theme #1248

Open Markellas opened 2 days ago

Hi, please add the ability to change the dock icons size to the settings app. Also, when changing the icon theme (in the settings app), it does not affect the icons in the dock in any way. Is this a bug or not?

Btw, Are there any solutions planned for theming GTK applications? Because at the moment they are out of the general COSMIC theme. Or maybe I don't know something and there is a theme for gtk apps?

Thanks in advance :D

The size of applet icons is configurable, but isn't exposed in Settings. You can theme GTK apps by toggling the option above the icon theme selection grid.

Hi! Do you know if there are any plans to add such an option to the settings app?

Also, I finally found the option to theme GTK apps, but it actually only changes the colors for now. Are there any plans to change the entire look of the GTK apps or at least a window header?

Thanks for the reply :)

Since it's not something most users will use (and would possibly be difficult to expose in an intuitive way), it probably won't. But it'll likely be available in COSMIC Tweaks eventually.

That option is there to make GTK apps fit better within COSMIC. For more granular theming, GNOME Tweaks and similar tools should be used.

Talking about GTK apps, it's no way to do anything with that issue using GNOME Tweaks right now. It'll be great if this app has these possibilities in the future

And also what about icons in the dock? Why are they not changing with all other icons?

Probably not. It's a Tweaks app specifically for COSMIC. There are other apps and methods for configuring the GTK theme, so it would be redundant to use time developing that for an app that's unrelated to GTK/GNOME.

They are. All icons that are available in chosen icon themes change (including applet icons). COSMIC apps don't have icons yet in other icon themes, so they only use their own icon.

Oh, I see, thanks. Now I understand why is it so
