The application panel applet overlay will permanently display on all workspaces, if it opened in succession too quickly. I discovered this by doing a quick involuntary double click, but it is easily reproducible by spam clicking the 'Applications' button and 'super+a' at the same time. This bug effects interacting with the other panel applets; the applet buttons can be clicked, but the menu choices cannot be selected. This means a hard power cycle is required, because the power applet options cannot be selected. This bug also disallows interacting with the windows of open applications.
