Issues with Plex flatpak #482

Apologies if this belongs in one of the other issue trackers. Also, sorry for the photos; the built-in screenshot util wasn't working and I couldn't get any other screenshot app to actually capture the screen.

The Plex flatpak seems to have two rendering issues:

  1. The cursor is comically large when inside the Plex window. Like 5 times larger than normal.
  2. The entry in the app tray seems to be a bit broken

Cursor Size

I tried the workaround from this issue but it didn't seem to change anything.

This only affects the cursor inside the window. When the cursor is on the window's titlebar, it's the normal size.

App Tray

When running Plex, the icon in the app tray looks like a wifi icon.

If I pin it to the app tray, it doesn't seem to have anything in it but "Run". Clicking the icon and "Run" seem to do nothing.

If I run Plex manually again with the icon pinned, it'll show the original menu options again.

I saw that there were some tickets around electron apps having incorrect icons and other poor behaviors, but it looks like those tickets were closed with a PR. I also don't know if the Plex Media Player client is written in electron. I know PlexAmp is but info seems scarce about the regular client app.

this is similar to stremio flatpak, cursor and top bar are not correct screenshot-2024-08-08-17-42-56
