update channel for epoch 1 #494

i currently use pop 22 and as alpha 1 is out I want to try cosmic on 24 but after some hacking around I think there isn't any channel currently epoch 1. And on twitter I saw jeremy. currently there's no docs and only way is clean install or the way I am currently using. so just wanted to know when an aplha upgrade will be available.

We plan to have upgrades available for alpha 2. Things could change and we could have them earlier. The main reason is that we'd like to finish feature work before working on upgrade issues.
