3 months ago It would be useful to have shortcuts to set windows on one-third and two-third wide screen and also in center. Something similar is provided and can be configured by user for:
- Gnome (gTile - https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/28/gtile/),
- KDE (Tiler - https://store.kde.org/p/2144210)

Hello, I've been thinking about this, and I figured I might as well make my recommendation here, since I can tell you folks are up to something awesome.
Anyways, 2 basic ideas:
Static number of windows mode. Eg. If it's set to 2, then only show the 2 open windows (50/50). When a new window is opened. It is added to the opened windows stack on the right side, and only it becomes visible on the screen, alongside the window to it's left. If set to 3, only 3 windows are visible (33/33/33). etc..
Window shrink mode. All widescreen users will understand this one. Sometimes I just want a single window on my screen, but having a 34" screen makes everything wide and chunky. A hacky solution for this is just opening up a terminal alongside the active window, artificially downsizing it, but this forces me to look either to the left or the right of my screen. (Annoying) This shrink shortcut/bind/tiling mode whatever it may be, should simply reduce the window width to X (X being settable somewhere in settings), while also keeping the window centered.
These are the tiling modes I use the most, but we definitely should have an option to rotate modes on the fly.
