Scid (chess program) runs, but clicking menu items does not show sub-menus #839

Scid is a widely used chess program (available in the Arch AUR, but same problems exist if you compile directly from git). The program runs, but none of the menu items (i.e., File, Database, Tools etc.) work on the Cosmic desktop. If you click them, nothing happens. What should happen (and does in KDE Plasma/Wayland) is a sub-menu should appear with choices in that menu category.

Scid uses the Tcl/Tk libraries for the GUI display. I suspect somehow Cosmic and/or Rust is not playing nicely with the Tcl/Tk libraries, but that is just a guess.

+1. the same thing happens with PureData, which is also built using Tcl/Tk
