Unable to login #62

This happens about 90% of the time then randomly will just work - after starting my laptop with Cosmic installed, I see the login screen and enter my password, then afterwards the password entry box disappears but user is never logged in and it just sits there at the login screen. Everything is still clickable. There is just a user with avatar picture and no password entry box, but the other controls are still available. I can successfully restart from here but that's about it.

I'm assuming you're using cosmic-greeter? If so, I think I've seen this as well. I might have an install currently exhibiting this behavior, assuming it didn't stop doing it since yesterday. I'll try to dig into this more today.

Probably - I installed Cosmic using apt install cosmic-*

I saw this yesterday as well. Not sure if something has changed recently to cause this.

The same happened to me today. Running Pop!_OS 22.04 and installed cosmic, including cosmic-greeter through sudo apt install cosmic-session
