Workspaces Applet Does Not Transition When Clicking Through Panel Applets #254

When continuously clicking through panel applets like Applications and Desktop Numbers, each click will transition to the next applet's functionality. For example, if I click on Applications and then click on a Numbered Workspace, the Applications window disappears and I see a transition to a new workspace. This is expected behavior.

However when clicking on the Workspaces button and then clicking on either Applications or a Numbered Desktop, I do not see the same behavior. In this case, nothing happens. I have to click on Workspaces again to see the workspaces disappear.

Is this expected behavior? I'd expect each Applet click to work in a consistent way. So if I have Workspaces by accident and then click Applications, I'd see the Workspaces disappear and then the Applications window appear.

Let me know if this is not clear enough to readers. It is not super easy to describe without background on the desktop terminology.

Closing since this behavior matches Pop_OS 22.04 on Gnome/Cosmic.
