Colour? Or do you mean the opacity?
Colour? Or do you mean the opacity?
Nope.
I want to change the color of the dock to match the nordic theme on my desktop
Well then wouldn't that mean to change the colour of the applications menu's background aswell so as to match with the dock's background? Else it would look out of place? I think would be great if there was a feature to intelligently detect the most dominant colour from the wallpaper and then apply it to the dock and the applications menu, just like in android 12.

Dude, I just want to change the color of the dock. I don't have any clue what you're talking about.
Remember how android 12 automatically adapts its theme's primary colours to the dominant colous of the wallpaper you set? I was wondering if something similar was possible with the cosmic dock and the applications menu. Or maybe both their colours could be changed using themes.

Never mind, maybe this might just be too much to ask for. Was just getting onboard with the idea of changing the dock colours and was thinking of several ways it could be implemented.

The feature you are mentioning could be achieved using pywal and a dedicated config, but maybe this should be discussed in a separate issue :)
It would be nice to have the option to change the dock background colour including to transparent. the popup menu backgrounds would change to the dock's set background but could also be overrided. I would like a transparent dock background but the pop up menus would be hard to see, I imagine I would want to keep them stock colour or manually adjust them darker.
As far as I'm aware, there's currently no option to customize the background color of cosmic dock, unlike other gnome dock plugins.
